We recommend getting a Cancun Airport Private Transportation service in advance. Taking a Taxi Cab service at the Cancun Airport can be expensive. If that's not enough, you will pay more than you would for a regular transportation service. We got back at 5pm.When you arrive in Cancun after a long trip, the last thing you want is to look for a last-minute transportation method or share a cab to reach your hotel. He took the extra time to point things out and recommend places to try and we didn't feel like he was rushing us to get back. Gorge offered to take us for a little tour through the town and we had a quick stop at MacDonalds to eat along the way. Once we were done here we mentioned we had not seen Playa Del Carmen. Gorge stayed with us to be sure everything was fine and didn't go back to the van until we were all comfortable in the water. Gorge helped us find a snorkel guide that provided all the gear for $30 per person. We asked him to take us to Tulum so we could go to Subway and then we went to Akumal to swim with the turtles. When we were finished there we went out to find Gorge in the parking lot waiting with fresh cool towels and cold bottled water. We rented bikes and toured the beautiful site and climbed the pyramid. We went to the Coba Ruins (admission included). Gorge our driver told us if we saw something and wanted to stop just to ask. The price was $243.00 and they accepted Canadian at par, for myself, husband and 13 and 10 year old boys. I told him what we wanted, he took my name, gave me the price and our Van was there to pick us up at 8am the next day. Originally we planned to hire a taxi for the day but after going in 5 different short cab rides and not finding one that was personable enough to want to spend the day with we went to the Concierge at the Hotel and asked them to call Canada Transfer. (Don't forget to tip your greeter and driver! They are well deserving!) If you have any questions about what we experienced with Canada Transfers, please feel free to contact me and I can fill you in on what a great, stress-free service that we enjoyed from them! Cheers and safe travels! coolnorth_2 British Columbia, Canada From initial booking on their website (I paid by paypal when booking and everything was prompt and well documented) their airport greeting and their return pick up from our resort, I can only highly recommend Canada Transfers for the great service and the excellent communication that they provided. Both vans were clean, safe and roadworthy. Both drivers were pleasant and professional. We were checked in (with no line up at the resort) and even with a slight room problem and having to change rooms and then report back to the desk, we were on our way to the buffet restaurant for a late dinner about the time the rest of the Sunquest guests arrived to check in! (That is the main reason to spend the extra few dollars on private transfers!) Our return driver picked us up at the agreed time 10 days later and we headed back to the airport. 5) Cold beers and soft drinks that we ordered were in a cooler on ice and we enjoyed them on the drive to Tulum. 4) We were introduced to our driver who made sure we were all comfortably seated and then we were off. 3) The van pulled up within 5 minutes and we were given clean, cool washcloths to freshen up with as well as cold bottles of water to drink. 2) He immediately called for our van and helped move our luggage to the staging area. (Didn't order any for the return trip as I figured I had to stop at some point during our vacation!) This is what we experienced: 1) Driver was there to greet us upon exiting the airport and was easily identifiable with his CANADA TRANSFERS shirt on. We could pre-order our choice of beer and soft drinks for 1.00 each for the trip. It was cheaper (160.00 vs 140.00) to go to Tulum. A lot of people ask me, "Was it really worth it?" The short answer is ABSOLUTLEY! USA Transfers has been excellent on 2 previous occasions yet we chose Canada Transfers this trip for a couple of reasons. As we were staying well south of the Cancun Airport the last few times, we opted out of the package transfers and booked private transfers instead. We have sometimes taken our package transfers, USA Transfers and now Canada Transfers. We are a group of 4 adults (52-56 yrs old) that have travelled to the Mayan Riviera 5 times in the past few years.
